Roadmap 2050 /
What if ... Europe
became Eneropa?

UNFORTUNATELY, BECAUSE OF
THE PANDEMIC,WE HAD TO MOVE
OUR EVENT FROM REAL
TO VIRTUAL SPACE

STATEMENT

Roadmap 2050 was commissioned by the European Climate Foundation to determine how the EU’s CO2 emission reduction goals, set in 2009, could efficiently be met. The report includes extensive technical, economic, and policy analyses conducted by the Imperial College London, KEMA, McKinsey & Company, Oxford Economics, and AMO.

AMO developed a graphic narrative about the geographic, political, and cultural implications of a zero-carbon power sector which shows how, through the complete integration and synchronization of the EU’s energy infrastructure, Europe can take maximum advantage of its geographical diversity. Under the AMO-devised scenario, titled Eneropa, the simultaneous presence of various renewable energy sources within the EU would create a complementary system of energy provision ensuring energy security for future generations.
